Like everyone, I have been introduced to superheroes at a very early age. I am not sure which superhero was the first one I was introduced but I can recall watching superhero cartoons and TV series like Superman, Batman, Spiderman, He-Man, Ninja Turtles, ThunderCats during my primary school age. Watching these superheroes, I also wanted to be a superhero as well. I used to role play with my cousins mimicking superheroes. My favorite superhero at that point of time was Superman. I wanted to have his flying ability, super speed, heat vision, cold-breath, and super strengths. I can recall putting red color Gamcha (traditional cotton towel) as cape and jump from high places like dining table, tree branches etc.
When I grew little bit older, I was introduced to “Chacha Chowdhury” and other characters from Diamond comics. I loved Sabu and wanted to be as big as him. I also read The Phantom comics. Although he doesn’t have any superpower, but I loved his costume. I always wanted to visit his Skull Island.
As I grew older, I got exposed to various other superheroes like Blade, Shazem, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spiderman, Wolverine, Deadpool, Flash, Wander Women, Dr. Strange etc. I spent significant time during my college, university and CA student life watching movies and TV series of superheroes from DC comics, Marvel comics and other independent superhero movies.
During the same I time, I also started watching Japanese Anime series which I still try to watch whenever I have the chance. I started with “Dragon Ball” and gradually started following other anime series like Bleach, One Piece, Naruto, Attach on Titans, Death Note, Fairy Tail, Seven Deadly Sins and many more. The list is increasing over the years.
When I was little, I wanted to be a superhero. I wanted to be cool, powerful, and different from others. But as I grew up, I started to think that being superhero may not be a good idea. They always fight the evil but does not bring permanent solutions. Properties and lives are damaged because of their fight but they never held responsible for this. Furthermore, many superheroes do not have a full-time job. So, I often wondered how they earn their livelihood and those who had jobs, how they manage times fighting crimes after managing time for their jobs. So maybe they earn by fighting crime and that maybe they are the reason evil exist in the first place. Moreover, being superhero is a 24 hour on-call duty. Then I have concluded that it is better to have a superpower than to be a hero.
So, I started to wander, what superpower I should select if I were given a chance to have a superpower. There are so many options to choose from. Super Strength, Super Intelligence, Time Travel, Heat Vision, Flying, Teleportation, self-healing, Shapeshifting, Super vision, telekinesis, invisibility, speed, magic and many more. These superpowers are sure very interesting and able to help day to day problems. For example, if one has Flying as superpower, he can skip the traffic jams and public transports all together. He can even fly to other cities and counties without incurring any flight cost and skipping visa requirements. Same goes for teleportation. Heat vision would be a handy power to have in cold countries. Super strength may be helpful in construction process.
I always plan to do many things but most of the time I am unable to do so due to time limitation or limitation to exist physically in multiple locations. After long thinking, I concluded that I need a superpower that will enable me to exist in multiple locations performing multiple tasks. So if I ever get an opportunity, I would like to have cloning ability just like Naruto’s Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu. This ninja technique allows Naruto to make unlimited number of copies of himself which he uses for battle or performing multiple tasks. These copies have same memories and capabilities of the original. These copies vanishes when objective is done or defeated by others. But once vanishes, the experience or memories that it creates are added to the experience or memories of the original.
I see lots of practical application of this multi-shadow clone technique. For example, a student can create multiple shadow clones and assign a subject to each of the shadow clones to study. This way one can learn quickly. Naruto himself used this technique to learn a ninja technique in the manga/comic series. If I had this ability, I would create several copies of myself and send one to go for a vacation, one to meet my friends and relatives, one to have my client meetings, one to prepare long memos and send emails. I would assign one to go watch movies and one to read novels. I would assign one to sleep and one to spend sufficient time with my family members. If needed I would assign multiple copies for each of my family members. As original, I would perform the responsibilities of each of my clones on rotation basis. At the end of every day, I would make all copies to vanish and gather all of of the experiences and memories. This superpower/ability would really be helpful for maintaining social and professional connections, performing duties efficiently, enabling continuous learning and providing time for rest and personal recreation.
I know that it is reality, and I will not be able to get the shadow clone ability, I sure can improve my time management and be there for others. At least I could get closer to the shadow clone ability. Although becoming a superhero with superpowers is a concept primarily found in fiction, we all can develop heroic qualities and making a positive impact in the world. We can focus on developing our skills and talents to have super intelligence. We can be compassionate, empathetic and help others to make meaningful impact on people’s lives and contribute positively to your community. Like superheroes fight against injustice and stand up for what is right, we can emulate this by advocating for causes you believe in, speaking out against inequality, and taking action to promote fairness and justice in your own sphere of influence.
While we may not have superpowers in the traditional sense, embodying the qualities of a superhero, we still can make a significant impact and contribute to making the world a better place.
